Please read the following clarification and decision concerning the Awards for Law Firms of the Year (download clarification).

 

IN-HOUSE LEGAL DEPARTMENTS

Entries should not be based on a specific file/case but on the global annual achievements of the firm, more particularly:

-  Demonstration of a commendable degree of quality,

-  Commitment on one specific technical deal, case or project during the past year (no mention of clients ' name allowed),

-  Valuable publication(s) or initiative(s),

- Continued relevant contribution in the area of practice for which the firm/department are candidates.

These entries and their complementary support documentation are optional but constitute an objective way to draw the attention of the jury on your achievements over the past year.

 

Easy to participate :

Submissions should include :

1. The participation entry Form (Download Participation Form)
2. To demonstrate the quality of their entry, a candidate can submit a written submission of no more than 1000 words. Where applicable you may support your entry with additional relevant material.

At no stage, candidates should submit informations that could constitute a breach to the professional rules set up by their Bar association or professional organisation. This includes the confidentiality rule or professional secrecy rule.

Entries and their complementary support documentation are optional but constitute an objective way to draw the attention of the jury on your achievements over the past year.

There is no fee to enter The Belgian Legal Awards. However, a separate registration form is available for people willing to attend the event and dinner (Download Dinner Registration Form).

The Organizer of the Belgian Legal Awards must receive all entries by no later than on 22nd December 2005, noon.

General conditions of entry

All entries will be treated as confidential, seen only by the judges of The Belgian Legal Awards 2005. Judges of The Belgian Legal Awards are subject to the Internal Rules of the Awards.

Entries cannot be returned.

The Organizer of the Belgian Legal Awards accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of material submitted.

The awards are judging performance from January 2005 to December 2005. Performance outside of these dates will only be taken into account if it is relevant to the submission.

Participants can submit an entry for different categories. However one entry per category will be accepted.

Please note that pictures will be taken during the event/dinner and that entrants/participants agree that these pictures be published in the press and in the Awards Book.

The Jury is independent from the Organizer. The Legal Awards are scrutinized by a Legal Bailiff under Belgian Law (Gerechtsdeurwaarder, Huissier de Justice). .
